Why???

Old houses, barns and stores.  They have been abandoned, forgotten and left to the elements.  Some look to have many decades of vacancy.  Other have been unoccupied for a only few years.  Most have been emptied of all contents, while others have remnants of the previous inhabitants.

Several years ago, Highway 441 between Dublin and McRae, Georgia was slated for widening to four lanes.  I told Sarah, "Many of these old houses will be destroyed when they widen this road"...  It is yet to happen.  In fact, the DOT (Department of Transportation) signs asking public input have been removed.

Even so, these old buildings are eroding quickly.  So, we felt the need to document them before they fade away...

Photos and GPS coordinates record the 24 buildings or group of structures.  Each one has been given a nickname to help us keep track of the individual locations
